MY FIRST BLOG EVER! A GREAT READ, well, it’s okay, but take a look, you’ll love it!
January 24, 2022 – I am sitting here in the warmth of our cabin-like lodge home that sits high up in the hills of Northern New Hampshire.
Also known as ‘The Great North Woods’. It’s been in the negative numbers, temperature-wise, for the past week – but the wood stove is cranking, and I am cozy and happy!
My first blog post, Humm…. Who am I? What am I about? What will this blog be about? How often will I blog? Did I name the blog the right thing for a blog? What is with the name ‘blog’ anyway, it’s like ‘blob’, ‘gob’, ‘blab’, ‘bogged down’…. I am sure I will get used to it in no time.
I am a 57-year-old mommy of two and Glammah Gigi of two. My partner is the love of my life, and he has taught me all I know about hunting, the outdoors, wildlife, and nature – in just the three years we’ve been together.
I was a Shopper, prone more to impervious surface and malls and Lord & Taylor – dressed in FABulous high heels all the time with something Chanel on me somewhere and bright red lipstick.
How in the world did I go from High Heels and Pearls to Camo? Kinda crazy, but very interesting! The Series of books I wrote, with the first three being published and on the market in the Summer of 2022, is about the past three years in the woods. Life in Camo. Life at Camp. Sounds of the critters out there in the woods. The “Daddy Series” of books are written by a character named ‘Debber’ (which is the nickname my partner calls me). They are written from a 7–8-year old’s imaginative perspective. I can do this because the strokes left me with a changed brain.
A Blessing in disguise. “You call a stroke a Blessing?” Yes, yes, I do, in my case. Made me appreciate life, each day, and also some of the so-called ‘damage’ it did to my brain, actually was a help and not a hindrance. My imagination was great before, it is wildly awesome now! I see colours brighter and hear sounds clearer. I stop and notice things now. I am more inquisitive, and I just embrace life and all it beholds.

This first post answers who I am, what I am about, what this blog will be about…but tighten your seatbelts, because following my writing and thoughts is an interesting and fabulous journey!
